Darwyn in a Nutshell
In 1859 an English naturalist named Charles Darwin published his theory of evolution. According to his theory, humans evolved from single-celled organisms into homo sapiens. This theory is now considered a fact in the scientific community, and there’s overwhelming evidence to support it.
A few weeks ago, my Co-Founder (Eshan Rasul) and I were having a conversation about this theory, and we had one question on our minds - with all the technology available to us today, why can’t we accelerate human evolution? Why can’t we supercharge humanity?
It turns out we can.
Imagine a world where you could be as strong as The Rock and as smart as Albert Einstein. Imagine how much we could accomplish as a civilization! That’s why we started Darwyn.
So, here’s our roadmap in a nutshell:
In the next 2–5 years, we’ll be able to use CRISPR-Cas9 and lipid-based nanoparticles to make you genetically stronger, and smarter with just 2 pills. If you want to learn about how lipid-based nanoparticles work you can click here, and if you want to learn about how CRISPR-Cas9 works you can click here.
Kratos is our strength pill. It uses CRISPR-Cas9 to find the genes in your body that currently influence the fiber type that makes up your muscles and replaces those genes with ACTN3 and ACE, 2 genes that are common amongst some of the strongest people in the world. By replacing these genes, we’re making you genetically stronger.
Coeus is our intelligence pill. Your brain is much more complex than your muscles, and as such, we need to replace far more genes. Luckily, since we’re using lipid-based nanoparticles, we’re working on the nanoscale, which makes it much easier to replace these genes. Using CRISPR-Cas9, we’re able to replace different genes in your brain that control your intellectual capacity with 52 genes that are linked to intelligence. By replacing these genes, we’re making you genetically smarter.
Now the initial cost of these pills is going to be around $500–$1000 each, which is pretty cheap considering the fact that once you take 2 pills, you’re genetically stronger and smarter for life. After this 2–5 year period, we’ll be spending the next 5–10 years after that trying to lower this cost in order to make these pills accessible to everyone. Our goal as a company is to supercharge humanity, not just those living in first-world countries.
In the next 10–20 years, we’ll be moving towards a much different goal. The singularity. As artificial intelligence becomes more and more mature, the risk of humans losing dominance becomes higher and higher. Even if we maintain dominance over artificial intelligence, the opportunity for the singularity is one that we can’t pass up. For those that don’t know, the singularity is the idea of merging AI and humans to make humans far more intelligent.
In order to create the singularity, we plan on using CRISPR-Cas9 to connect the neurons in your brain to an artificial neural network. This will allow you to process information at an exponentially higher rate. Combining this with bionic limbs to make you stronger and faster, we’ll truly be able to supercharge humanity.
So, in short…
2–5 Years: Creating pills for genetically increasing strength and intelligence using CRISPR-Cas9 and lipid-based nanoparticles.
5–10 Years: Lowering the cost of those pills so they’re accessible to everyone.
10–20 Years: Creating the singularity.
